Bricks

A picture of perfection
Masonry at it's best
Bricks reaching skyward
Withstanding against the test

Layer by layer it rises
Piling them ever so higher
Sealed off with blood and tear
Freshly moulded from life's fire

Stable and sturdy
This construction within
Steeled by the world
When did it begin?

~THE FLOWING PEN~

 Cynical Seclusion by Mayfair

Shut out the world,

With self imposed walls.

Touched by nothing,

Emotion palls.

Never chancing the hurt,

Protected from pain.

Yet lost to all joy,

As feelings lay slain.

Mayfair
