Twist Of Fate

To think I sat here all alone
A trembling goddess upon my throne
A beaten heart held in hand
A pain the wisest could ne'er understand

Holding gifts locked with aged keys
Eyes that shelter haunted memories
Staring at a feast with empty plate
Waiting in silence for a twist of fate

A dainty chest caught without breath
Weeping and mourning for lost tenderness
Surviving still....searching for life
Sleeping adrift a cry to the night

A treasure placed into these hands
A beating heart completing woman and man
On stolen breath I call before time is late
Thank you for saving me...
Oh sweet twist of fate
