As we travel down the highway of life
Do we sometimes take our journey for granted
As we search for adventure
To excite our hearts and minds
Do we sometimes forget
The special gift we are given,
Do we care enough about this land
On which we stand
Or do we simply destroy it for profit
Do we see the beauty in front of us
Or do we simply glance at it as we walk by,
Are those closest to us remembered everyday
Or do we simply assume they know
For those taken to soon
They may never know
Of their true gift to others,
The gift of love, friendship and loyalty,
Lifes' journey may be brief or long
As you travel through lifes' surprises
Whether they are welcomed or not
