This Child's Lull -A - Bye...1986

Jesus, hear the silent cry
As I sing this child's lull-a-bye

Take away the pain, the fears
That I lived through in my early years

To this day, I hear the screams
That awakened me from peaceful dreams

I still see the tears
My mamma cried
While she sang this child's lull-a-bye

Hush-a-bye, hush-a-bye baby
Close tight your sleepy eyes
And envision all of Gods angels
Who protect you, baby, this night

When alas, your sleeping, my child
All tucked safely into your dreams
I'll pray that you'll not grow to remember
As I did the heartache and screams

I know that your young heart must be breaking
In two with each tear that I cry
My child, you can't understand yet
That these tears are for you and why

So for now, hush-a-bye baby
Close tight your sleepy eyes
And envision all of Gods angels
Who protect you, baby, this night

When alas your sleeping, my child
I'll pray through these tears that I cry
That you'll not have to sing to your children
This child's night time lull-a-bye...
