Roses of Love

Gently you stand,
As you are placed a
At the centre of the table
Your shiny glass is masked
By patterns on circles and stars,
Each stem is delicately cut
And placed inside
As small portions of water flow softly by,
While your thorns bite with each gentle touch
Your flowers of red and white
Open slowly with each passing minute,
As the days quickly pass by
Your colors begin to fade,
Your petals begin to fall
Gracefully upon the table
Your youth begins to wither,
Until all that stands
Is the memory of the bright light
Which fills the centre of the room
