Lights, Camera, Action...1990's

Love cannot be measured
By a whisper or a touch.
Since words are so deceiving,
Why do they mean so much?
If I were dumb and paralyzed
What would the difference be?
I could not speak sweet words of love;
Nor could I feel you touching me.
I do not cringe or shudder
When you kiss my lips.
And you have not yet gone away;
SO what is there to miss?
It is true. I am a woman;
And yet, I have little need
For any man who stifles
The woman that I need to be.
I cannot say that I don't love you.
I cannot say that my love is pure.
I only know what I have learned;
That nothing in this life's for sure.
Alone and without a crutch
You have to learn to stand.
That act will determine
When you become a man.
So when it's lights, camera, action,
And the spotlight shines on you,
Remember that it's not your leading lady,
But your strength that sees you through...
