I sit on my hands
And bite my tongue.
Evil would come out of both if I did not
For the world has begun to crash down about me.
Wounds cannot be healed by apologies.
Fear cannot be regained by threats.
Pain cannot be given without remorse.
Attitude cannot be changed without care.
You don't see me the way I see you,
Held highest in regard,
Running from your raindrop tears
And fearing that I'd drown in them
With random thought of your lifeless eyes,
How they stare down a simpleton like me
And make me feel less worthy than I could be.
How can you have that power?
That's why they come to me,
Coming to you can prove to be fatal,
Even though they are dead already.
I want to believe that you mean well,
But that's an idea I just can't force into my brain.
