I was in shock when I heard today
Beyond belief on the news very boldly,
They announced that in the song
God bless the USA!
Those words had to be removed replaced,
Found to be offensive to some!
Forgetting the majority pure disgrace
The believers the values morals
This blessed Nation this country the USA!
To offend so many for a few
A sad day in history,
All that this country stands for,
When you think of all those
Who fought stood proud and tall*
Sang out loud and had the right to pray
God Bless The USA.
Gave their lives for that right!
Makes one wonder
Who are we really at war with?
Iraq or God what’s the sudden rush
Pieces just don’t fit?
Who’s really behind all this
What’s next on the list
Who they trying to replace
In God We Trust
Bless the USA with?
Scary and alarming thought
Sure would like to see the counts,
Those votes for and those against it!
I thought democracy*
Was of the people for the people!
I think we better get down on our knees
Seriously start to pray,
Something more then meets the eyes
About to take place in the USA,
God bless the people shield us
From those in power going astray!
Don’t think they have
The wisdom to know,
It’s with God the Almighty
Their dealing with directly!
Why the double standards
Please some and make it illegal to pray
To even say or mention in a song God bless freely
Doing all they can
To cast him out foolishly,
And throw all this country
And it’s blessings away*
