Ren's Pen

It's Not Your Fault

Your life reminds me of how I used to be,
Until that day I was set free,
Got tired of all the voices in my head,
Thought the only solution was me dead.

I had much bitterness and hate,
And started to believe this was my fate,
I use to write poetry of pain and sorrow,
Until Jesus gave me a brighter tomorrow.

What can I say to give you hope?
So you can live and learn to cope?
You have not been abused for many years,
But they have become today's fears.

You say you can not stand to feel love,
Not even from the one above,
How do I know this, I've been there,
I even claimed I did not care.

We have never met face to face,
Though your thoughts are a familiar place.
I know what it is like to to live in the past,
And wondering how long it will last.

Sister I see your pain trapped inside,
And all your questions asking why,
Locking yourself up in a vault,
I want to tell you it's not your fault.
