NO SAFE HARBOR
The sun arose across the quay,
promise of a glorious day.
Winged sailboats at anchor lay,
on gently, rippling waters sway.
Black clouds rolled in at midday,
northeast gale winds found their way.
Roiled and churned the water astray,
water sprites came there to play.
Thunder roared and joined the fray,
lightening and rain deathly gray.
Swamped the boats to the captains dismay,
absolute destruction left in it's way.
Nature exacting it's dearest pay,
turned heaven into to hell that day.
Left all at anchor lost that May,
sunk deep within the briny spray.
All hands lost, the seas betray,
all who do not the dangers weigh.
Made a grave in the treacherous bay,
became the god, Poseidon's prey.
NO SAFE HARBOR
