The clock chimes, hands climb,
ticking minutes lost forever.
Never to regain, this time again,
we wish away endeavor.
Wish the day would end, time would lend,
a llittle less work and more pleasure.
A few more hours to smell the flowers,
a million seconds to treasure.
When reality returns, stings and burns,
I realize what it is that I've done.
Wished my life away, time gone astray,
never to relive the moments undone.
I'll try and remind, myself next time,
to celebrate every minute.
Find joy in all, long days recall,
cherish every hour in it.
