Her son calls her in despair
He was just told to pack his gears,
Next week their platoons leaves
So little time to get prepared,
But a good soldier improvises.
Still in his voice she senses
He was a bit shaken!
Now everything was very different
He had a new son and a wife
Who too depend on him.
His major concerns he explains
You know how much I love my job,
And I serve with pride and honor
Here or abroad.
But mom it’s the people I love,
You my family I have to leave behind
That really breaks my heart!
Just a loving son sharing with his mom
I hate to bring that up,
But to you only I can talk
You always kneeled and prayed,
Your faith in God mom
Always got us through the valleys!
No matter the hardship
How difficult the task it was.
You are like an angel,
God answered swiftly
Somehow we knew,
Everything would be ok.
Why I want to say
Thank you and how much I love you!
Can you say a prayer with me
So all these doubts fears
Will fade away,
God will take care of my family
While I’m so far away
Mom you’re still our angel when you pray
God answers right on time every time!
Tears began to fall she could hardly speak
She said son, God just heard an angel pray!
He will answer swiftly,
And he himself will see and care for your family.
I am so blessed so proud thankful for you,
Why he had for you such a call a divine destiny
An earth angel to his family,
On eagles wings an angel
A soldier a heroe to serve his country.
Faith is your shield, God your foundation,
Your family your home, love your munitions,
Nothing in this world can ever separate
That which was built in unity by faith!
I’ll be the last in line also the first always,
To hold and pray to see your angel face.
Just to say Thank You Lord in your care
Under your featured wings he's home and safe.
