Sky of slate gray, began this day,
leaden skies in spherical relief.
Skeletal tree forms, awaiting the storms,
snow bursts, lightly and brief.
The sun was hiding, from clouds colliding,
its pallid endeavor surrendered.
The cold north wind, snow did send,
a day nocturnally rendered.
Gray turned to white, the snow queens flight,
swirling and descending in dance.
Her partner the wind, seductively grinned,
as they pirouetted in icy romance.
A whirlwind affair, done with flair,
a passionate, seasonal interlude.
Waltzed to the time, of nature's rhyme,
before ethereal spring would intrude.
The dance completed, they parted, retreated,
into amorphous ether they disappeard.
Into a remembrance in white, pristine and bright,
left their essence and winter appeared.
