All the dinosaurs came and got Barney

And so we bond.

The Tomb of the Unknown Civilians

written Sept. 10th, 2003
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just the other day they buried a vial of blood
all that remained of a firefighter
1,000 more remain unidentified
though I'm sure God has
sorted them out and they are
where they were destined to be
the pit is surrounded by souvenier booths
and tourists now..bring flowers and their tears
New York grows around this hole
while bulletholes pierce the flesh
of men dying in the wrong country
against an enemy who had nothing to do
with the towers fall....
or with weapons of mass destruction
today they were given six more months
these ragged tired troops
sweating tears and blood
sentenced to 11O degree heat
in a blast furnace of hell
to further an agenda
not yet clear to any beside
a man looking to get re-elected
who hasn't yet earned the right
he promised to get the men responsible
and all we got were great escapes
and sandbox lands that kill our boys
a vial of blood was carried today
in a six foot coffin to it's grave
all that remains of a firefighter
1000 more remains unidentifiable
will be buried in a common grave
at the site of their departure
will Bush be there to tout his success
in capturing those who caused
this unmarked grave.....will he
sprinkle some dirt into that hole
where they will forever rest
still promising to get his man..both men
2 years after the fact
We entered this avenging fight
too loudly broadcasting our
intentions to the world
special forces and covert action
that would have been
secret and deadly
to bin and saddam
as well as any sniper
placements were withheld
until it was too late
the ground troops were
sent in to Afghanistan
after the fact
to avoid casualities
at a time when he
when he was most popular
the air wars
failed in trying to kill
a speck of a man
in a vast endless land
just like his daddy did
the stupid intelliegence
that said this and that
and it all meant nothing...
I am but one! hostile human
angered by the mishandling of lives
unidentified by party or allegiance
sickened by the leader offered
with little alternatives ahead
just more useless struggles
and troops desperate to stay alive
where our men are not wanted
and more empty holes where they thought
saddam or bin might be
reported far too often
there will soon be a large hole
where I know 1,000 will be
in the middle of a city
teeming with lives
1,000 unnamed and forever stilled
a legacy will rise from
this administration not of thier choice
but still unavenged to this day
it is what I will simply call
The Tomb of the Unkown Civilians
Our latest monument to terror.
