Lives pragmatic, bordering static,
existence a stagnant condition.
Interment of self, obligation dealt,
into an abysmal, fallow, perdition.
Denigrates the soul, half of the whole,
relegated to an odiferous quagmire.
Bowing down to others, blindfolds, smothers,
our innate, individualistic fire.
Placid mindset, shall then beget,
distain with pathetic posturing.
Those who subjugate and rule our fate,
wax bewildered when the spirit takes wing.
The day arrives, when freedom cries,
and martyrdom falls and crashes,
Free at last, shackles cast,
a phoenix rises from the ashes.
