As the year begins to wind down
I cannot help remembering
All which has touched my life,
And in a small way
I feel my journey in life has just begun,
Your absence is echoed everyday in my sadness
While your smile is placed delicately in my heart
Your spirit will live forever in my memory,
And as the New Year is now upon us
