TRAGEDYTwo lovers stand, upon the strand, as waves crashed onto the shore. In the dark of night, in pale starlight, with thoughts of their love nevermore. From two different worlds, memory swirled, of acceptance that never would be. No ties to bind, from two different kinds, of lives prophetically not free. As the wind surrounded, love unfounded, yearning arms enfolded these lost souls. Unrequited love, fate's mournful dove, would fly away upon the shoals. From the land they walked hand in hand, into Neptune's fateful beckoning. Love never to be, waded into eternity, to a never to be found reckoning. With open arms, the sea's charms, welcomed them into the depths, earth's ties severed, disappeared forever, and all that knew them wept. . Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
