A RAINY AUTUMN DAY
Dreary, gray, rainy days,
A subdued sun hides it's face.
Lost in clouds, no warming rays,
Are given to win the chase.
No more bird song serenades,
To welcome the morning light.
All have fled as autumn fades,
And silence fills the night.
The wind tosses deadened leaves
In a soggy whirlwind dance.
The colors have faded, brown now weaves,
Autumn's final gasping chance.
Indian summer but a memory,
October's bright blue skies are gone.
The coming days an epiphany,
As winter breathes it's song.
