All She Wanted
She walks in the room
Her head directed towards the floor,
She doesn't look up,
Doesn't smile or throw out her usual "Hi."
Tears flow out her swollen eyes,
Down her paled cheeks,
And drop off onto the tiled floor
Echoing the sadness that drifts through her soul.
At first they just sit there,
No movement
No words...
It's like the world has frozen around them.
He wants to ask what's wrong
And has to fight with all he is not to,
But deep down he knows
And can't bear to hear her say it.
Instead he walks over
Words still never being spoken,
And as he lifts her chin,
He looks into her eyes.
And with that she knows he understands,
And will never question,
But love her,
Because that's all she needs...all she's ever wanted.
