LATE NIGHT SHOPPING
I did not wish to buy a lot,
But last night I went to the shop,
Just what I had gone there for,
I had forgot once through the door.
All the bargains on the shelves,
Discount prices gives me wealth,
Picking bargains up galore,
I’ve spent some dosh here that’s for sure.
But wait a minute look what’s that,
they’ve knocked a fiver of the hat,
The shopping trolley’s getting full,
What the heck I’ll have it all.
To the till I toddle off,
The trolley full with cut down stuff,
I fill the bags and pay the bill,
But something’s missing this I feel.
I fill the car and then go home,
perched inside my driving throne,
In the door and there’s the wife,
And now I know i’ve got some strife.
Have you got the loaf of bread,
Darn that’s what was inside my head,
So if you go out late at night,
Make sure you get the shopping right.
