Poems of Soldiers
Hidden from an Angel
From the day I was born
I had a friend
She was there for me
Time and again
She never left
Was always there
As I to her
This never impaired
Then I watched her
Learn the dating game
Helped her when it
Brought much pain
I never asked
Only gave
Never doubted
What she said
Then it happened
On a dark lonely night
Gone I was
Pushed to flight
Only a memory remained
A smile, a face, a personality
I lost it all
Nothing left, not anymore
A regret remained
so full of pain
I should have told her
Feelings I had went much further
And today I feel no sorrow
And I feel no shame
And come one day
Feel no pain
I will always love her
More than she'll know
And pray that one day
It will finally show
But no one deserves her
Not even I
For she is an angel
Descended from up high
