"Of Sights and Scents" A Poem by David Hart
A distinguished pair of spectacles,
selfless and serene,
doze snuggly atop a
Proud bureau of
drawers.
A placid fireplace
yawns and winks
As giggling embers
tango on tiptoes with
Lilliputian logs,
haughtily cackling
a cacaphonous tune.
Outside a stoic mist
galumphs betwixt gregarious
shrubs and egotistical stars
Dewy eyed and squinting,
windows, aching and arched,
peep out--
Out to the blaring beams
from a crochety moon afar
A pensive pair of spectacles
ruminates on sights
Carefully seen--
Of frugal birds and
courteous walkways
And terraces splendid and keen
Now a scent of myrrh
caresses the room
A pillow of mist
blushing, blows kisses
to
A muzzy moon

с чистый.
De Vues et Senteurs par Monsieur David Hart
Une paire des lunettes distinguee,
desintresse et sereine s'assoupit Ã
son aise au sommet un dresser fier:
Une cheminee placide baille et cligne
de l'oeil pendant que braises etourdi
faisent le tango sur la pointe des pieds avec les
buches semillantes et tapinois, tous caquetent
une chanson hautainement.
Dehors, une brume stoique, glisse entre les deux
plantation d'arbrisseaux gregaire et les etoiles egocentriques.
Les fenetres avec les yeux couvert de rosee et
louches, regardent à la derobee dehors
à la lune rayonnant et taquinement une
paire des lunettes pensives et pedantesques
rumine de les temps bienseant a vu des
oiselets frugals et gazouillis et trottoirs courtois
et terrasses splendides et aiguisees.
Maintenant un flair de la myrrhe syriene
caresse tatons a la chambre pendant
qu'un oreiller d'une brume rougissante
souffle les baisers la lune nobiliaire
et gemissante.

Un par de gafas, distinguidas,
Humildes y tranquilas,
Duerme con seguridad en
Una oficina orgullosa de
Cajones.
Una chimenea apacible
Bosteza y guiña
Mientras ascuas de risa
Bailan el tango en dedos del pie con
Ramas minúsculas,
Riendo con orgulloso,
Cantando una canción disonante.
Afuera, una niebla impasible
Se mueve torpe entre
Arbustos gregarios y estrellas egotistas.
Con ojos oscuros y estrechos,
Ventanas, desfigurado y llenado con dolor
Miran a la afuera—
A los rayos ruidosos
De una luna obstinada en la distancia.
Un par de gafas pensativas
Recapitula sobre vistas
Visto con cuidado—
De pájaros frugales y
Caminos cortesanos
Y terrazas, espléndidas y afiladas.
Ahora, un olor de mirra
Acaricia la sala
Una almohadilla de niebla
Ruborizándose, los manda besos
