Can you remember what grandmother said?
You asked for more she scorned you instead,
With a frown in her eye she sent you to bed,
Another day tomorrow son of you go run.
I remember good old days when Nan was there,
You visit her in anticipation of the same game,
Most the time she doddered not knowing your name,
Respect for her though I had, I loved her just the same.
Times change, my old Nan’s gone up among st the stars,
But how can I forget the way that things where,
You’re saying you had I used to hate but now agree,
I use your wise words on my own greedy three.
This saying of old is for more than just food,
Its there for a reason and not to delude,
A saying of strength and truth stood tests of time,
In love in life another day tomorrow she’s right.
