I'm Proud to be an Christian
If tomorrow Christians were gone
And what we believe costs us our life,
We would still do it all over again
Even with all the strife,
I thank the Creator of the stars
to be living here today,
'Cause Jesus still stands for freedom
and they can't take that away.
I'm proud to be an Christian
where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the One who died
who gave His life for me,
And I gladly stand up next to Him
and defend his Word still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love the Lord
My life pleases Him still today.
Preach it from the lakes of Minnesota
to the hills of Tennessee,
Across the plains of Texas
from sea to shining sea.
From Detroit down to Houston
And New York to L.A.,
There's faith in every Christian's heart
and it's time we stand and say:
I'm proud to be an Christian
where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the One who died
who gave His life for me,
And I gladly stand up next to Him
