New Fallen Snow

The winter snow falls heavily upon the ground
And as the trees stand tall before me
They are covered in a blanket of snow,
And as the snowflakes fall upon the river
Which stands beside them
The water ceases to flow
As it begins to form a pathway,
The children play happily
Upon there new found playground
Their scarves gently frolic
Around their shoulders
Protecting them from the bitter cold,
And as the cold air turns their noses red
White balls of snow
Are thrown carelessly through the air
As each new snowflake is gathered up
Between playful hands
And thrown toward a new destination,
The snow continues to fall
Heavily upon the ground
