When you are in above your head
And your lie has grown, it'll never be dead.
Tho' it may have started as a simple thing,
Now your word never has a true ring.
For whatever reason, vengeance or greed,
Always remember you'll be judged for each deed.
Your own life or whoever you blame--
These lives will be altered and never be the same.
One lie never hurt anyone ‘They' say.
But one leads to another, come what may.
To allow a lie to grow out of proportion
Leads some life into complete distortion.
This little lie that has become so great
Will be entangled with others the longer you wait.
The lies you've spoken these words of black,
Will echo forever, you can't take them back.
The wound will heal, after the truth comes out,
But the scar will be deep, I've no doubt.
After all is over with things said and done,
You'll be the sorry and lonely one.
I'll never understand just how or why;
It's beyond my comprehension, this
One
Little
Lie!
