Beyond These Walls of Color #170

Big brown baby eyes looking up at me
Trying to figure out just what it is she sees?
Mama holds her tight in loving arms
As she stares in my direction....

  --Could it be my complexion?

What color is the light?
What color is the day?
Can we trust our sight
To show us a better way?
Or is there something deeper....
Much deeper found within
That can help us find our way,
Our way back home again....

  --Beyond these walls of color.

Multi-colored eyes looking for God's love
Trying to find His presence in the clouds above?
After the storm and the rains are through,
A rainbow shines its reflection....

  --Could it be God's complexion?

What color is the light?
What color is the day?
Can we trust our sight
To show us a better way?
Or is there something deeper....
Much deeper found within
That can help us find our way,
Our way back home again....

  --Beyond these walls of color.
