Here you are
And beside me,
You sit.
Haphazardly, you mock my every move.
You mock
My every hesitation.
When you make a joke,
I want to choke some sense into you,
For your humor is dry,
Xeric, like a desert.
You couldn't make a lame mule laugh.
And every day,
You smile as I do,
You cry when I do,
You laugh as I can.
You're never you,
You're always me.
You know not of this difference,
You say you are unique,
But you are nearly exactly like me,
And that,
My friend,
Cannot be had.
Develop your personality,
Do not take on mine.

*It is my understanding that there needs to be more poems with X's in the title, and here I come with one. Plus, I hate it when people dub me "cool" just for being myself and then they copy everything I do. I really can't stand it. Imitation is the highest form of flattery? I think not, that only means you are too lame as yourself so why not be like someone else.
