Jesters Mask

Upon her face she places it
A familiar jesters mask
Worn so many a time before
Becoming an ever easy task

No one will see her pain now
No need for comfort for her cries
She wipes them softly on her own
Within the mask that she does hide

No one will know her laughter
If it should come out now and then
It falls muffled on the fabric
Never to be heard ever again

No one will see the tenderness
Once so alive within her eyes
All that's left is the emptiness
She displays with her disguise

She has become a jester in life
Shed never a tear for her she does ask
But behind the clever disguise she begs
For someone to simply remove the mask
