I Saw A Ship A-Sailing…I went down to the beach today, Wind blowing in my hair, Lost in thought, in dreamland, Where everything there, seemed fair! In the distance on the water…! I saw a ship sailing out to sea, And how I wished I was on board, I wanted to be lost in infinity! I pondered on my life this day, And thought of all the hurt and pain, Wishing I was on that ship in the distance, Knowing my life will never be the same…! I mulled over in my mind… What is happening now in my life! Still wishing I was aboard that ship, I wanted to leave behind my strife. I thought about my future fears, About the trials and pain I face ahead, Wondering, but not afraid of…! If I were to end up dead! I'm not afraid of dying, That's not what this is about, It's just that I am not ready yet, Of that there is no doubt! So I sat watching the ship sail away, I watched the ripples in the sea, Looking into the vastness of space, That space is where I wanted to be. I wanted to set sail on that water today, And leave behind my life of woe… Not face the future that's ahead of me, Because I don't want to die, to go! As it disappeared into oblivion, The wind still lashing at my hair… I was lost in thought, no solace to be sought, I decided sometimes life's not fair. Sailing away on the sea of time, My mind filled with a fear so great, What will come of tomorrow? For this day will deem my fate. I shall have to wait and see I suppose, And take it day by day… Because after all, when said and done, I can't change anything by what I do or say! So as I watched that ship-a-sailing, Calmness washed over me…! Accepting that, no matter what, I will deal with whatever it will be… …For I Am The Phoenix… Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
