Separated by distance,
we lived so far away.
Until God brought us together,
on the phone that September day.
We talked for many hours,
we shared the things so dear.
Little did we know,
that we would meet the following year.
God is so amazing,
this friendship was meant to be.
I will cherish this bond of friendship,
for all eternity.
Someday up in Heaven,
the two of us will be.
There will be no distance between us,

During the summer a few years ago I had a little girl from Ireland come to stay here in New York with us for 6 weeks. After she went home her mother and I talked on the phone for many hours. It's been 4 years now since she has been here. Her mother and I always keep in touch. Both the little girl and her mom came to stay with us the following year, and then we went to stay with them the summer after that. So this is the poem I wrote for her.
