You will never know the joy,
that Chelsea has brought to me.
To look upon her smiling face,
was all I needed to see.
She always lifted my spirits,
I looked forward to each new day.
Your little girl is a blessing,
in many different ways.
Your daughter has a special gift,
to teach others how to live.
She has taught me to be thankful,
and to give all that I can give.
Chelsea has opened my eyes,
and has helped me to clearly see.
She has taught me things about myself,
and the way I need to be.
Thank you for letting me share,
the love I had to give.
I will remember your little child,
for as long as I shall live...
Kelley Marie Quinn
I work in a school with disabled children, and I took care of this little girl Chelsea for two years. She was in a wheelchair, she couldn't walk, or talk. She needed help to do everything. I had to help her play with toys, go to the bathroom, and help her eat. Everything that Chelsea did she needed someone to basically do it for her. She always smiled though, and that amazed me. She taught me to be compassionate, and to give of myself to others. I truly loved her, and she taught me that the simple things that we take for granted, we need to always be thankful for. At times it would break my heart when she would watch other children run and play on their own. I always wondered what she was thinking. I gave this poem in a frame to Chelsea's mother for Christmas, I wanted her to know that Chelsea touches lives with her disabilities, and that she is truly a blessing to others.
