Dear Mr. President
Dear Mr. President, I had to write,
Been praying about this all through the night,
I don't understand the reason for this war,
Only One can bring peace and that is our Lord.
Many are dying and losing their lives,
And sitting at home are their husbands and wives,
These are not your children over there,
They are frighten, alone, and even scared.
I beg you to have a change of heart,
Because you have put the horse before the cart,
This war will not bring about peace,
And it will not cause the hatred to cease.
Please hear the cries of this mother,
I have a son over there, and I have not another,
See I have already burried his dad,
When he killed over in Baghdad.
You do not read the letters I receive,
If you could you would be able to see,
Don't let your pride get in the way,
It takes a better man to forgive and walk away.
