Commitment
Joined as partners in an acquired quest;
property gained, solely, by merge and lend.
Cohabitation as union, not guest,
with benefits befit more than a friend.
To live as a unit and love as one;
common law yet void of benediction.
Carefully planned, this union has begun;
lifestyle bearing some contradiction
Common, by society accepted;
looked down upon by religious moral.
This merge of love shan't be intercepted;
nor left to rest only upon life's Laurel.
Commitment accepted from roof to sod.
Commitment yet lacking to bless by God.
