A Cage To Hold My Dreams

She Has No Body Here But Mine

She has no body here but mine
to guide her where she'd like to go,
Its through my eyes that she can see
the sights this world has put on show
Yes, I do love her as when first
we strolled along a country lane
where trees and meadows lose their thirst
in welcome pearls of summer rain.

She has no presence here but mine
through me she sees the rivers rise
through me she knows that stars still shine
and clouds still tiptoe through the skies
Yes, I do love her now, I know
as when we skipped on lakeland stones
and in the firelight, whispering low
she'd gently soothe my weary bones.

She has no memory here but mine
thats one more reason why I cry
and why at eventide I pine
for love departed, love gone by.
Yes, I do love her now with such
defining force it rocks my being
Its through my hands she still can touch
And through my eyes she goes on seeing.
