 Rainbows in Water

Footsteps

A path lays before each of us
no one travels the same way
Some paths last for many years
while others last not even a day
The footsteps we place in our wake
are looked upon with each deed
They measure our progress through life
to show what lessons we need
Some people learn from their travels
while others circle the same
Never making any progress
wasting their every day
Some have learned to interact
helping those in need
Giving when it is possible
a hand to secure a deed
Say hello to a stranger
feed bums along the road
And maybe one day when you are in need
you'll never have to feel alone
For God rides on our shoulder
He sits there not to judge
For our entry into his realm is meant
by our belief in his forgiving Love.
