Would You Want Me?
I would love to sit you down and serenade you with beautiful words
make you forget for just a little while
that the world can be a terrible and lonely place
I could hold you real tight and rock you to sleep
kiss your forehead and watch as you dream
that would be enough for me
but would you want me to?
I could drive cross country to visit you when you are lonely
and listen when I get there to all you have to offer
my lips might meet yours in a moment of uncertainty
the next morning waking up with smiles on our faces
our arms around each other under the covers
we could have that wonderful relationship
but the ball is in your court
would you want me too?
I could spend forever wrapped around your finger
I wouldn't mind if I knew I had all of your heart
my devotion would never be questioned
because I have always known I could never give less than 100 percent
I would consider you an irreplaceable gift
a calming sensation that is present inside and out
the only question left
would you want me????
