I love you because of tonight...
when you pulled my not-so-little
girl onto your lap and said,
"Read to me. Read me your poetry"
and you massaged her head and
tickled her arms just the way
she loves to have them touched.
I love the way you told her that
she is beautiful and put your
big arms around her as we
stood in line at the cafe.
She idolizes you, loves you,
talks about you all the time.
Tonight was one of those
rare moments when my son
showed his heart too and said
in a trembling little voice,
"I hope you won't have to
go to jail, Rich."
It's hard for me to explain
how the laws don't always
protect...sometimes,
they hurt the innocent.
They don't understand,
and they won't understand
if you move far far away.
I'm having a tough time
at age thirty-four
understanding~
your boys won't
understand either.
They'll always think
it's because of something
that they did wrong...
why didn't daddy love us
enough to stay here?
Their pure and innocent love for you
is reason number five-hundred fifty-two
why you can't run away from us now.
Your boys need you,
My children need you,
and so do I.
You have given me hope
in love again.
Please stay.
We love you.
You are not
replaceable.
The love of a child.
The love you and I
have found together~
Priceless...
Don't walk away.
There has to be
another way.
I've helped you breathe.
I've helped you live.
I can teach you
to love again too...
whatever it takes to
keep you in my arms
because you will never
leave my heart now.
We believe in you, honey.
Please believe in us.
