Thought we never met
You inspired me to no end
I read of your unselfishness
It was your life you chose to lend
To just sit and watch was not
A choice you felt was yours
Your courage rings through our land
And echoes on it's shores
With your faith you set forward
When some would choose to bail
I'm sure you prayed for strength
With God you could not fail
Some cowards tried to fool us
To think America was weak
You stood strong for Old Glory
With actions you did loudly speak
Unknowingly and uncaring
An American hero you became
Forever from now on
We will always know your name
You have brought to this nation
A phrase that brings a tear to eyes
"Let's roll" and "In God we trust"
Are as American as apple pie
