Remember When...

White sandy beaches, sea oats,
palm trees, brown pelicans
sailing on the summer breeze.

Tea parties in the back yard,
mud pies that dried too hard.

Puppy dogs, kitty cats, Angora rabbits,
gerbils, palmetto bugs and white
rats. Afternoon naps, tricycles
and baseball caps.

Birthday parties for Johnnie, Monique,
Pat, Tammy, Christie, Steve, Patty,
Michelle and Jimmy.
Colorful candles and presents
new and a beautiful cake to wish on too.

Fishing trips, and swimming holes,
camping out, marshmallow roasts
and ghost stories told.

Carter’s lakes, crystal lakes and
Wewahitka too. Those were the
childhood days of family and fun.
Years ago in that warm Florida sun.
