One True Love

I remember when I met you
So shy and laid back
I did all I could
Just to get you in the sack
So tall and so handsome
Personality, so sweet
Always smelling good
And dressed so neat
Never disrespectful
Treated me like a queen
I couldn't believe we were together
It was like a heavenly dream
One year later
We had our precious baby boy
Brought us closer together
The unexplainable joy
More time went on
We knew our love was for life
So on March 17, 1997
You made me your wife
More years went by
Still faithfully together
Waiting on our daughter
We knew it was forever
After her birth
Things began to change
I was doubting our relationship
My feelings began to change
Not knowing the problem
I pushed you away
Leaning on a close friend
My love began to stray
Haunted by guilt
Passion and lust
I packed up and moved out
For I knew now, Me you could never trust
Three years have passed
Since I packed up and left
If only you could see
For you, the tears I've wept
You are my one true love
Who's forever in my heart
I thank God for two angels
That will never keep us apart
If I had the chance
To start over with my life
We would still be together
I'd still be your wife
