Just Wondering...
How did we get here, you and I,
Who are you, from where have you come?
We seem to have stumbled in from another time
When for a moment, you were the one.
I can remember that joyous day-
Oh yes, it's still fresh in my mind,
Our day spent together, so much in love-
We wanted for nothing more than time.
You can imagine the shock when I awoke
For our love was but a dream-
Oh how I long for you – even today,
I'm still amazed at how real it all seemed.
But, I hide the ache and get on with my life
Try to forget the love in your eyes,
Never another love could compare
And my heart, my mind grew to despise.
Yet here you come, a ghost from my past
Dredging up feelings pushed far down inside
We seem to have shared a similar dream,
from a similar frame in time.
Please, if you can, tell me how this can be
I did not know you, nor you me-
Are you the love of my dream?
Do souls really search forever…
