Was It Worth It?Things go wrong as they sometimes do, And people get so very hurt, Actions cause pain, distress and grief, By things done, and words they blurt. So do you turn them away? Is that really the right thing to do? What about love and compassion and stuff, Can you imagine it, well, can you? So they do things so hurtful and mean, And cause devastation with their ways, So do you, do you turn them away? Until the end of their days! Life isn't a bed of roses, Of course we all know that's true! We also know everyone makes mistakes, Through things said and things we do. So do we, do we turn away? Because it's hard to understand, How anyone could be so hurtful, By doing something so underhand! So though I believe in a second chance, And we shouldn't really turn away… I suppose it depends on the harshness of the deed, And whether we can give them any leeway! Yes, some things are forgivable, And I don't judge anyone on their ways, But sadly I have to say – in this case, Forgiveness is out till the end of their days. For yes, this sin is so very bad, That caused devastation deep within, Broke a family's love that ‘was' unbreakable, For it was pure evil that was allowed to win…! I always thought forgiveness would prevail, Over anything that was said or done… But in this case, sadly, not so… For they allowed evil in, and evil won! And as through life they will go, Shamed and exiled are they, They will get their recompense, And will be judged, on judgement day! … Was It Worth It… …NO… …It Wasn't… …And Now It's Far Too Late… …May They Wear Their Shame Well… Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
