In the airport she looked as a stranger
Her rose colored dress, her glowing jewellery
Ear pieces in a crossword puzzle design
Rings wrapped in her fingers flashing in light
She was in her true elements.
Throughout the sprawling lounge
No one escaped her notice barring me
Her elevated forehead creased with
A baffled frown perhaps
A condensed smile peeping through her lips.
And in the front wall a portrait hung
A pin-up boy dressed in a bright-colored shirt
Tucked in ocean blue jeans-
All of a sudden captured her attention
She was absorbed in art drenched in translucent light.
A window with Venetian shutters down
A little girl stumbled and fell down at a distance
A jostling crowd roared in laughter-
Filling her cracks and holes inside her hearts
Her face still clouded in smoke of cigarettes
At that very moment I was more than sure
Her termite tunnel vision
To be crumbled by time and in diligence
She would invite me to soak in rain
In the dark leafy flower garden.
