I Miss You

In days like these
when your memory hovers I find all those cards
and read them cover to cover
when I close my eyes I see your beautiful face
when I drive by your house I imagine you in that space
I miss you, I wish you God would have not took you
but He got that pick of the litter when he called you home
I know it's selfish but my life would be better if you wasn't gone
I miss your advice or just the comfort of knowing you were there
now that space is empty, a space in life I find hard to share
when I really sit and think even now it's hard to comprehend
most of the time I refuse to think on what might have been
every trip to the beach I think of your ashes
and how you are somewhere above me smiling
I guess the tears I have will always be on the ceiling
the silver lining is I am only a breath away
of one day saying I no longer have to miss you
we can both be looking down smiling wiping the tears from the missed ones....
