Behind Your Eyes
I know the struggle you fight against
Having been there myself before,
Though you try and try it's still not right,
I feel your tension, I hear your pain,
But let me share what I see –
Don't own what's happening…
It is not your cross to bear.
Don't pull away from these arms…
They so want to shelter you,
Don't fear this heart…
It shall only show you love,
Don't withdraw from life…
You shall indeed find joy.
Don't give up nor give in…
Better days are on the horizon.
Don't become bitter…
Lest it overpower what remains sweet.
Let go of these things you cannot control
You have given your best, your all-
A little farther down the line you shall see
That what I say is true.
Just do your best at what you can,
Know that you are loved-
And that I see you…and these pains
That to most lay hidden behind your eyes.
