I wonder why my love for you failed-
Trying so hard these many years
to keep you happy and our house a home.
Your friends say they are jealous of the wife you have
But I wonder if they realize that this gal is so sad?
Can they see all the pain behind these green eyes,
as they tease they'll draw straws for your wife when you die?
I'm a really great cook, I keep the house clean
But you never notice a thing, you just come home mean.
I wonder why it took me so long to see clear,
Now that I do, what shall I do about it, dear?
Yes I still love you, but “In Love”.....no.
Maybe it's me, maybe it's you, but where did it go?
