Words of Life, Love and Praise

Just One

As I sit here in the early morning hours
I wonder if I have done all that I can...
Is there more that I might try to re-kindle
the flame so lost between your anger and torment?
You say you want me to stay, yet I understand not
your heart.
Have I not given you what you seek?
Was that not me sacrificing my dreams,
that we might do as you thought better?
Did I not love you with every ounce of my soul
and raise your boys into such wonderful men?
Were you not spoiled by my passionate embraces?
You seemed to enjoy them so.
Was the home we made not a place of comfort
for your weariness?  You made it seem so at the time.
You tout your love for me and say no other can compare…
So just what is it that I fail to give you?
Why must you always be so negative about everything?
If there is something I have not done for you
Tell me what it is….indeed I shall try.
Our 20 years must be worth.... something.
I cannot do this alone.
If there is any hope for us at all, you need to step up to bat.
Give me just one reason, Ron...
Just one.
