Consequence Of Arrogance
Some words are a welcome sound
When spoken from the heart and not the head
Yet words spoken in a fevered haste
Are often better left unsaid
It's the consequence of arrogance
Harsh words can seldom be undone
It doesn't take the wisest person
For even a fool knows to bite his tongue
So as I sit and ponder this
I reflect upon what I have said
Facing the consequence of my arrogance
For those words I rattled from my head

No More Crimson Ribbons by Mayfair
No more crimson ribbons,
Shed remnants at my feet.
Tiny shiney pieces,
Drift lonely in conceit.
Prideful wounds lay open now,
Unbound for all to know.
Bindings cut by shamefulness,
No longer staunch the flow.
Once they were a clever guise,
Now used beyond repair.
Sanguine flotsam falls away,
With tear-stained cries laid bare.
