Free, You or Me?

Talk to me,look in my eyes,
Convince me that you tell no lies.
You're not the one who abandoned me for someone
half our age?
Not the one who left me in tears that slowly
turned to rage?
You love me so much you could just walk away?
You think I love you enough to forget that day?
Forget the coldness in your face and eyes as I
begged you to stay with me?
Do you think that day won't forever be seared
in my memory?
Did she tire of you so you figured you'd settle
for second best?
Or did you tire of trying to please her and need
some rest?
You didn't care what happened to me when you walked
away,
You left and I never saw you again until today.
I cried for days,I was so unbearably sad,
Then I started thinking and I just got mad.
That sadness turned into a strength deep
inside,
I had to survive,I couldn't just bury my head
and hide.
So you look in my eyes now,tell me what
you see?
I'm too good for you...I'm setting you free.
I hope you'll never be able to forget this
day,
Remember how deeply you can hurt someone
with the words that you say.
